1^st September 24: In a dazzling showcase of badminton talent, over 1200 gifted young players from every corner of Maharashtra took center stage at the 8th edition of the PNB MetLife Junior Badminton Championship 2024. This eagerly anticipated sporting spectacle culminated today in a thrilling finale at the prestigious Andheri Sports Complex where 10 budding badminton champions emerged victorious in their respective categories.

The audience witnessed exceptional games across various age groups. In the Boys Singles Under 9 category, Raghav Niwarti triumphed over Pradyumna Meshram with a score of 15-9 & 15-5, while in the Girls Singles Under 9, Risha Kadian defeated Khrisha Goyal with a score of 9-15, 17-15 & 15-13.

In the Boys Singles Under 11 category, Arham Bhandari emerged victorious against Ronit Jadhav with a score of 15-12 & 15-12, and in the Girls Singles Under 11 category, Priya Amburle outperformed Samikshaa Misra with a score of 15-10 & 15-11.

The Boys Singles Under 13 category saw Pratham Raut defeating Shlok Goyal with a score of 15-10 & 15-12 in a thrilling match. In the Girls Singles Under 13 category, Vaishnavi Manglekar secured a commanding win against Jagruti Jitendra Jadhav with a score of 15-6 & 15-9 establishing herself as a force to be reckoned with.

In the Boys Singles Under 15 category, Praful Pardhi continued his impressive run, overcoming Kritya Patel in a competitive match with a score of 15-13 16-18 & 15-11. Meanwhile, Khushi Pahwa emerged victorious in the Girls Singles Under 15 category with a strong performance against Anannya Shinde with a score of 7-15, 15-11 & 15-12.

The Boys Singles Under 17 category featured Ishan Salvi who claimed victory over Rujul Wadate with a score of 14-16, 15-8 & 15-11 while Saisha Naik in the Girls Singles Under 17 category beat Nupur Thakar with a score of 17-15, 4-15 & 15-13.

The closing ceremony was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Mr. Shishir Agarwal, Chief Human Resource Officer, PNB MetLife, Mr. Mahendra Munot, Chief Operations Officer, PNB MetLife, Mr. Harsha Shah, Chief Insurance Manager, Ms. Sudha Sunil Rathi, Chief Insurance Manager, Mr. Anand Pawar, Former International Badminton Player & Mr. Sameer Patankar, Honorable Secretary, Mumbai Upanagar Badminton Association. They presented the victorious young athletes with the prestigious JBC Trophy, acknowledging their remarkable achievements.

This world record is a testament to the championship's consistent growth, exceptional organization, and the immense participation it attracts from young badminton enthusiasts across the country.

The event has garnered support from prominent figures in Indian badminton, including Satwik Rankireddy, Chirag Shetty, Prakash Padukone, Ashwini Ponnappa, Vimal Kumar, and Chetan Anand. These icons lend their expertise to the JBC Boot Camp, an innovative online badminton academy that provides invaluable insights and techniques to help young players refine their skills.
